There is Still Hope and a Prayer for McCain

But while behind, McCain could end up winning this election 274 to 264 if he won all of the following states I have identified as true “swing” states. Those states are: Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Missouri, and Ohio. McCain winning all of these won’t be easy.

But not much of a chance

By Chris Ingram

Forget all about the “national polls” that show John McCain trailing Barack Obama in the presidential race.  They are about as meaningful as your local weather forecaster’s “extended forecast” telling you the chance of rain next Thursday.

National polls are meaningless because there is no such thing as a national election in the United States.  While our president is elected to national office, his election is based on fifty individual state elections (plus Washington, D.C).  It’s called the Electoral College.

So why do media organizations conduct “national polls?” Because these national polls allow them to perch their journalists in front of a TV camera to spew all the information they think they know — mostly from people who have never worked on a single political campaign no less. Playing the Socialist and Gender Cards

First, let’s get this out of the way: Barack Obama IS a socialist. He wants the government to take money from those according to their ability and redistribute it – “spread it around” – to those according to their need. Or as the rock group Ten Years After put it, about ten years after Obama was born and before domestic terrorist Bill Ayers was washed up: “Tax the rich, feed the poor, ’til there are no rich no more.”

Being a hypocrite is no better

By Chuck Muth

In politics, there’s significant value in the ability to speak on particular issues with moral authority. There’s also a well-deserved penalty for being a hypocrite. Case in point: McCain-Palin calling Barack Obama a socialist.

First, let’s get this out of the way: Barack Obama IS a socialist. He wants the government to take money from those according to their ability and redistribute it – “spread it around” – to those according to their need. Palin and Powell

Palin seems to be simultaneously trying to keep the McCain campaign afloat while looking for a lifeboat.

Resurrecting their reputations

By Elan Barnehama
In an odd way Sarah Palin’s performance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend and Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama on Meet the Press served similar purposes for each public figure. While both events accomplished their immediate election related goals, each appearance seemed to support a personal agenda to regain and rebuild personal reputations.

Sarah Palin has become more and more irritated withher handlers and the top brass of the McCain campaign who have mishandled and muted, if not censored, her. Continue reading “Palin and Powell”

The Water Cooler: the polls could be wrong

McCain got it right on one thing when he said: “Hold onto your wallets” if Mr. We Know Nothing About (aka Barack Obama) gets elected president. The whole “Joe the Plumber” thing is newsworthy because Obama told poor old Joe “I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” They call that SOCIALISM where I come from.

The Water Cooler is an occasional feature of talking points about politics.

• John McCain got it right on one thing when he said: “Hold onto your wallets” if Mr. We Know Nothing About (aka Barack Obama) gets elected president. The whole “Joe the Plumber” thing is newsworthy because Obama told poor old Joe “I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” They call that SOCIALISM where I come from.

• If McCain’s poll numbers were any lower he’d trip over them – or they’d call him President Bush. But hold on a minute folks. I’ve been conducting political opinion polls for ten years and polls can be wrong. Remember the 2000 election? All the “exit polls” said Gore would win. How about the New Hampshire Continue reading “The Water Cooler: the polls could be wrong”

The photo Barack Obama doesn’t want you to see

Obama's friend William Ayers

Meet William Ayers. He is Barack Obama’s friend and the terrorist who bombed U.S. landmarks in NYC and Washington, D.C. when Obama was eight years old.  But in September of 2001 (when Obama was an adult and buddy of Mr. Ayers’) he was stepping on an American flag.  You are the company you keep Mr. Obama.
