Florida Federation of Republican Women Condemn Reckless Spending

Editor’s note: Kudos to the Florida Federation of Republican Women for passing the following resolution. If you read between the lines, you can see they are none-to-pleased with Florida Governor Charlie Crist (who fully embraced Obama’s boondoggle of a spending spree adding nearly another trillion dollars to our $11 trillion national debt).

Go get ’em ladies! The rest of us Republicans need to forget about Ronald Reagan’s “11th Commandment” (though shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican), and start demanding our Republican elected officials start acting like Republicans.

Stimulus Resolution

WHEREAS, The Congress of the United States of America passed the largest spending bill in the nation’s history known commonly as the: “Stimulus Package”, and

WHEREAS, The members of the Florida Federation of Republican Women are dedicated to electing Republicans who adhere to the core Republican values including fiscal conservatism, capitalism and smaller government;

WHEREAS, No members of the Republican Party in the U.S. House of Representatives voted for the measure, and

WHEREAS, Three Republican Senators, Susan Collins, Arlen Specter and Olympia Snowe supported the measure when it came before the Senate for a vote, and

WHEREAS, House Minority Leader, John Boehner, deserves much credit for his leadership in keeping the Republicans in the House together in opposing the Stimulus Package, and

WHEREAS, The members of the Florida Federation of Republican Women feel betrayed by any Republican elected official who would be in support of such spending legislation [emphasis added by Irreverent View]; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Florida Federation of Republican Women in meeting on March 3, 2009 supported a motion to authorize adoption of this Resolution commending Representative Boehner, as well as other Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including our own Representatives: Congressman Jeff Miller, Congressman Ander Crenshaw, Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite, Congressman Cliff Stearns, Congressman John Mica, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Congressman Bill Young, Congressman Adam Putnam, Congressman Vern Buchanan, Congressman Connie Mack IV, Congressman Bill Posey, Congressman Tom Rooney, Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart and Senator Martinez and as well as members of our State Legislature who also stand against the measure and for their support of the Republican policies of less spending, smaller government and adherence to the Conservative History of the Republican Party of the United State of America, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be furnished to, Congressman Boehner, all Florida Congressmen and women, all statewide Republican elected officials and other leaders of the Republican Party at the State and National level.

ADOPTED THIS 3rd day of March, 2009.
