Crist supporter raises doubt about Crist

There is an e-mail floating around from Michael Pinson who up until now has been a big supporter of the tan man. In his e-mail to Greg Truax (a Crist apologist and publisher of the Crist propaganda website called FrontPageFlorida.com — which I used to contribute to), and Andy Graham (a Tampa attorney seemingly attached to the hip of Truax), Pinson raises the point readers of Irreverent View have read countless times, “Our sitting Governor remains SILENT with no leadership” Pinson complains. Pinson raises other deep concerns including Chuckles’ support of ACORN, SEIU (a labor union), his failure to condemn Obama (hard to do with those pictures), anti-capitalism, pro-immigration, and more. It’s a good read. Really good! I was waiting for Pinson to blame Chuck for his wet newspaper following the downpour we had in the Tampa Bay area last night.

Charlie’s lack of conviction on the issues is catching up with him

By Chris Ingram

There is trouble in Tallahassee for the Charlie Crist campaign. It seems Chuckles the clown, er, governor is starting to take some heat from within his own tent for lacking any conviction or serious plans for the challenges facing our country.

Apparently some Crist supporters actually do have a brain, a heart, and a concern for the legacy we leave to our children and grand-children.

Marco Rubio needs your help!

While Charlie wind-tests nearly every issue, Marco Rubio is a principled conservative who shares our view for a smaller government, an end to reckless deficit spending, and a common-sense approach to the issues facing our state, our nation, and our position in the geo-political scene.

Dear Friends of Irreverent View:

As you know Marco Rubio is putting up a spirited challenge to Florida’s leadership-challenged Charlie Crist in a race for the U.S. Senate.

While Charlie wind-tests nearly every issue, Marco Rubio is a principled conservative who shares our view for a smaller government, an end to reckless deficit spending, and a common-sense approach to the issues facing our state, our nation, and our position in the geo-political scene.

Whether or not you believe in every position of Marco’s, you can rest assured that his votes in the U.S. Senate will be based on his heart (not some poll), and with an eye on preserving and expanding the opportunities for future generations — not protecting the special interests. How to get a scumbag out of office

Any newly elected official who is elected to any paid position within Hillsborough County who, prior to being elected to a new term was the cause of an award for monetary damages in any civil suit which the county was wholly or partially liable for will not receive compensation for his or her elected office until such time as the county’s portion of said legally liable monetary debt has been fully repaid to the county.

Hillsborough County Commissioners could do something (but they won’t)

By Chris Ingram

Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin White’s sexual harassment case finally appears like it will be settled by the county. The county has agreed to pay $278,000 to White’s victim and her attorneys. I think this is the right thing to do as it limits the potential for any further costs borne to taxpayers already on the hook for well over $500,000 for the county’s legal bills for defending White.

And while the county should move on and count its blessings that White’s libido didn’t cost taxpayers even more, the commission needs to do something to get rid of Mr. White who refuses to resign. Continue reading “How to get a scumbag out of office”

Worst green-washed politician: Gov. Charlie Crist

Charlie Crist received award of dubious distinction.

Irreverent View is not the only on-line publication tired of Charlie Crist. This dubious award comes from Creative Loafing’s “Best of the Bay” awards which came out this week. Congratulations Chuckles!

The governor came out of the post-election box looking like a green Republican. His first year promised a true bridging of the gap between business interests and environmentalists. He called for and got a climate summit right here in the Sunshine State. Then the PSC stalled, focusing on nuclear and that most elusive of mythical creatures: clean coal. Long before rumors of the John McCain VP shortlist began to circulate, we suspect a meeting was called. And it went something like this: “Charlie, Charlie, ya coulda been a contenda. Stop with the citizen governor crap and think about our, uh, your future.” Whereupon our kindly green guv began to turn the ship of Florida back toward the rocks. The nadir came when he blissfully began to tout the benefits of oil drilling off our shores. Oh Florida, think of the revenue! Ditching his term-limited governor job in Florida for a lifetime income with retirement plan in the Senate was an anticlimax. Charlie Crist deserted us long ago.

Crist to Fundraise on Sept. 11th

As if you need another reason (assuming you have half a brain) to NOT support Charlie Crist, here’s a good one compliments of the St. Pete Times “Buzz” blog from today:

Crist raising money on 9/11

If appearances matter, an upcoming fundraiser for Gov. Charlie Crist will generate some buzz. Not only is the fundraiser being held on the 8th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack, but the host gave more than $30,000 to Barack Obama.

An invitation lists the fundraiser at retired entrepreneur Fazal A. Fazlin’s waterfront mansion in St. Petersburg. The entrance fee is $1,000 or $2,400 for a VIP meet and greet and photo with the GOP U.S. Senate candidate.

FEC records show Fazlin gave about $35,000 to Obama last year and he dotted his lawn with Obama for President signs. Fazlin, though, is also a big contributor to Republicans and before settling on Obama he supported Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani. Continue reading “Crist to Fundraise on Sept. 11th”

A Healthcare “clunker”

Author unknown

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of gasoline.

A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year. So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.

They claim 700,000 vehicles so that’s 224 million gallons/year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

5 million barrels of oil is about of one day’s US consumption.

And, 5 million barrels of oil costs about $350million dollars at $75/bbl.

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

How good a deal was that?

They’ll probably do a great job with health care though!
