Obamalism stoops to new low; Castor is mum

As a constituent of yours and a small stockholder of Odyssey, I call on you to call for congressional hearings to get the facts of this issue, and to defend the interests of O.M.E.

(copy of letter to Rep. Kathy Castor)

December 11, 2010

Representative Kathy Castor
US House of Representatives
317 Cannon HOB
Washington DC 20515

Dear Rep. Castor:

I am extremely disturbed by what I read in this week’s St. Petersburg Times (click to read) and on ABC Action News (click to view) that the United States government is compromising and bartering with the interests of Odyssey Marine Exploration with the nation of Spain over a piece of artwork that is completely unrelated to Odyssey.

As a constituent of yours and a small stockholder of Odyssey, I call on you to call for congressional hearings to get the facts of this issue, and to defend the interests of O.M.E.

The unrelated interests in this matter should have never crossed paths, and the government of the United States of America should be working to preserve the interests of Odyssey – not sacrifice them.

Please advise me of your intent to call for congressional hearings.

  1. Chris,
This is another example of wasted taxpayer dollars. We have way to many folks right here in the U.S. that need help, along with infrastructure Improvements, Border Security and our needs here in America go on and on, yet too many Bureaucrats in Washington insist on helping foreigner Countries before they help our own. This is a shame at best. Anyway I hope that you and yours have a Great Christmas/Holiday season — thanks for sharing and caring!

  2. The flame of exploration is what started America and has fired many accomplishments for our Nation in it’s young life. It’s hard to believe that one well-connected family can use it’s influence to convince our crooked politicans to extinguish that flame for the sake of a treasure that they lost to a brutal dictator many years ago. While I feel for this family and it’s history that has been stolen from them, I would suggest that they file suit against Spain in the same manner Spain has sued our explorers. Let the courts decide in a fair manner.
In the meantime, the childhood taunt of “Finders Keepers” should apply.
