Mark Sharpe set to make major announcement today
By Chris Ingram
Back in April I first broke the news that Mark Sharpe was giving serious consideration to running for Congress against incumbent liberal Democrat Kathy Castor who represents parts of Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Manatee counties.
Since that time Sharpe has held his intentions close to the vest. As late as Friday, Sharpe appeared to be on the proverbial fence. Tampa Tribune reporter William March called me on Friday inquiring about what I knew about Sharpe’s intentions. I told March I wasn’t sure myself, but my instincts told me Sharpe was 90 percent likely to run.
I’m upping that to 98 percent today.
Sharpe is a military man, a patriot, and a concerned father — it’s his duty, his responsibility, and his calling to run for Congress and help bring vision, common sense, and some civility to the cesspool that is the U.S. Congress.
God bless him for it. I wouldn’t want to be there surrounded by all those ladder-climbing narcissists available to the highest biddder.
We need more people like Mark Sharpe to take the plunge of public service to help get America out of the mess it’s in.
So come on out to Buddy Brew Coffee located at 2020 West Kennedy Blvd. at 11:30 today. I think Mark Sharpe will be announcing his candidacy. Of course, I could be wrong and you can have fun poking at the egg on my face.
