RNC coverage plans

I will also be filing my column for the Tampa Tribune every day of the convention. I plan to write on some of the “behind the scenes” goings on at the convention with VIPs and the delegate experience. Between tropical storm Isaac, convention protesters, security tie-ups, and convention business to consider, there should be a wealth of interesting things to write about.

I will be providing analysis throughout the week in my role as Republican analyst for Bay News 9, along with my Democrat colleague Ana Cruz and host Al Ruchel. We’ll start with a live “Political Connections” show at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday from the Forum. On Sunday night, there will likely a brief hit sometime during the RNC kick-off party from Tropicana field.

Bay News 9 will bring a local view of the convention throughout the week and Ana, Al and I will participate in the coverage with a special airing of “Political Connections” every night at 7:00 p.m.

Campaigns and Elections magazine asked me to contribute a column on cool places where Tampa politicos hang out to schmooze, dine, and drink. The column will be featured on the magazine’s website this weekend (click here for website).

Rather than lug my laptop around the convention security zone, I’ll be Tweeting tidbits about the convention rather than posting updates on Irreverent View. If you’d like to follow me on Twitter, click here: Follow Irreverent View on Twitter. If you don’t have a Twitter account, or don’t know what Twitter is, I encourage you to try it out. Setting up an account is easy. Once you set up the account, “follow” @IrreverentView. You can also follow my tweets on the Irreverent View homepage (right column).

If you have any political news tips, suggestions, questions, or comments, please feel free to email during the convention at Chris@IrreverentView.com or give me a call or send a text to: 813-951-2977.

Enjoy the spotlight on Tampa over the next week!
