Christie said he had instructed his four kids to “make themselves scarce” after greeting the Romneys. But the two youngest kids, ages 9 and 12, didn’t follow his instructions when the Romneys arrived. Instead, they hung around in full kid mode.

Thursday morning, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie addressed Florida’s delegates to the RNC. Christie told a personal and humorous story of Mitt and Ann Romney’s visit to the Christie household last year.

Christie recalled his wife’s worries about cleaning the house after receiving less than a day’s notice the Romneys were coming. He also made a tongue-in-cheek comment about having to prep their four kids to be on their best behavior when the Romneys arrived the next day.

Christie said he had instructed his four kids to “make themselves scarce” after greeting the Romneys. But the two youngest kids, ages 9 and 12, didn’t follow his instructions when the Romneys arrived. Instead, they hung around in full kid mode.

On red alert for antics by the two, Christie and his wife were ready to shoo them to their rooms if necessary. The next thing he knows, his 12-year old son is on in-line skates heading toward Mitt Romney — and fast!

  1. Romney did great last night. He showed he is not only sincere but he has a plan to get America back on track! The Rpeublicans are excited for the Romney/Ryan team and I expect they will win in November! I also enjoyed reading your columns this week Chris!

  2. I went to the gym to workout this morning and this trainer and his client were talking about the Romney last night and one guy said the whole thing was a joke, I was going to intervene but decided to keep my coments to my self.
I think Romney spoke from the heart and was very factual in his comments, his record will speak for it’s self, Romney was polished and knows what needs to take place to get this great USA on the right track. Romney is a man of many accomplishments and he will have his chance and will be successful in his accomplishments while in the White House.
What Romney can do is give Obama a permit to run a lemonaid stand near the White House.
I should have been downtown last night to spruce up Clint Eastwood’s hair
