You may fleece, but you can’t hide

Instead, as WTSP Channel 10 investigative reporter Mike Deeson first reported in March, Grant’s company, LifeSync Technologies, received a $2.6 million sweetheart grant for economic development. The company made a proposal to Hardee County officials to create a cloud-based medical records company that would bring jobs to the county.

With just three years of service in the state Legislature, Rep. Jamie Grant, R-Tampa, has already found himself embroiled in the middle of a questionable business deal.

Grant, 30, is a lawyer by training but has little real-world experience in the law or business. That didn’t stop Grant from seeing himself as a mini-Donald Trump who would apply the little knowledge he has in business from helping the good people of Hardee County, one of the poorest counties in the state, with economic development.

So far, so good. Members of the Legislature often support bills to help their constituents.

But Grant didn’t sponsor a bill, and the people of Hardee County are not his constituents – he represents voters in Hillsborough.

Instead, as WTSP Channel 10 investigative reporter Mike Deeson first reported in March, Grant’s company, LifeSync Technologies, received a $2.6 million sweetheart grant for economic development. Grant’s grant troubles grant him the spotlight

Tampa’s WTSP 10 reporter Mike Deeson has took a thorough look at a state grant Grant received for $2.6 million to create jobs in Hardee County (his local constituents should be asking him “If you wanted to create jobs, why in Hardee County and not in your district’s counties?”). You be the judge as to whether or not what Grant did passes the smell test. My gut is, Grant and his cohorts knew this wasn’t a rabbit, it was a skunk.

Young State Representative Grant embroiled in another “grant” controversy (pardon the shameless puns)

By Chris Ingram

Youthful, and woefully inexperienced should have been enough to cause voters to pause when young Jamie Grant felt he was the best man for the job of state representative from Tampa. But voters are easily fooled — at least once.

However, the fact that before he even was elected he had questionable judgment and what looked like sweat-heart deals should have given them a clue that this skunk stinks. Unfortunately they didn’t, and Grant is now in the state legislature in Tallahassee — that bastion of ethics and good judgment of people who represent us.

For a little background on Grant, read what I wrote about him on October 13, 2010: Continue reading “Grant’s grant troubles grant him the spotlight”

FDLE report: Crist paid men to hide gay affair (ouch!)

Tallahassee, Florida – 10 News has learned of allegations of homosexual affairs, a governor trying to kiss another man, and drunken escapades by former Governor Charlie Crist.

***Breaking News***

Kudos to WTSP/CBS channel 10 reporter Mike Deeson (who incidentally is one of the best investigative reporters in Florida) for breaking the following story about former Florida Governor Charlie “Chuckles” Crist, aka: “the Tan Man,” allegedly having paid men to leave the state of Florida to hide his gay lifestyle.

The issue here of course is not “Crist is gay” — that has been common speculation for years. The real issues are: 1) what did he do to cover up his personal life that may have involved pay-offs? 2) what (if any) monies were used? 3) who were those monies paid to? 4) who else knew about it — among other issues surrounding the alleged cover-up? and 5) Okay, Crist is gay, but did he really try to make-out with Jim Greer? Eeeewww!!!

You can start to read Deeson’s story below, and watch the WTSP/CBS 10 news story segment tonight at 11:00 on Channel 10 in the Tampa/St. Petersburg market.

Arguably the funniest part of this story is ambulance-chasing liberal Democrat lawyer, and Chuckles’ boss,  John “Fat Boy” Morgan, of Morgan, Morgan, Morgan and Morgan, calling Jim Greer “porky pig.” Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

Renee Lee, Kevin White, Victor Crist: no “there,” there.

Here we are, one of the largest counties in the state with a $2.5+ BILLION dollar budget and we can’t muster up enough support to fire people who have demonstrated a lack of ethics, who appear to have flat-out lied, and have certainly

By Chris Ingram

I’m not passing judgement on the Hillsborough County Commission, but I’ve got to tell you, if the bozos on this commission don’t step up to the plate and demand the resignation of county attorney Renee Lee (or fire her), they need to head to Tampa General and ask for a spine and brain implant. Mark Sharpe excluded of course…

I mean seriously folks, how ugly and costly does it have to get before the commissioners recognize it’s bad, gotten worse, and ain’t getting any better? Over the last year, Renee Lee, Pat Bean and Kevin White have made Hillsborough County the laughing stock of Florida with their antics.

The tail is definetly wagging the dog.
